The part can be found just past the primary heat exchanger inside your heating appliance and what it does is, allows the heated water to be shuffled around within the closed heating system. In these combination boilers, in most cases the pump will often be situated before the diverter valve to let circulation travel through the central heating system and the domestic hot water systems.
